Emprie Analysis

The genre of this magazine is all film genre's, there are similar magazines to this one like 'Total Film'. This magazine extends to other types of Media by having their own website. The film genres that are represented in this particular magazine are all for example, Comedy, Action, Action-thriller, horror, Romantic comedy and Sci-Fi. The stylistic features that represent these genres are, the masthead, images used on the cover and the text on the cover of the magazine. The content that is found is this magazine is typical to the genres because it is all about the new films out and they can be any of these genres. The media language used on this magazine cover, is the same as any other with the font's, images and text placed around the cover. But are slightly different by the colours and the styles used. For example the font's are all different sizes, the masthead is large, bold and red to draw the audience's attention to the magazine. The 'sub heading' is also large font and bold but not as large as the 'Main heading' this text is white, which works really well with background colour the text is placed on because the audience can acknowledge it and see that this is the main feature of the magazine. There are other texts placed on the magazine cover these are there to show the reader what is inside the magazine. These are always small font's and are usually placed in the bottom right or left hand corners, so the reader can glance at them and want to purcase the magazine. The images used on the magazine are mainly recognised characters form movies like 'Iron Man, Robin Hood and Prince of Persia' They are used to catch the target audience which by the content of the magazine cover would be males aged 15-35. There are other aspects that suggest that this is the target audience, by the colours used that they are white plain and simple. The layout of the magazine is constructed well because it is not cluttred and the image is the focal point of the cover and also one of the main aspects of the magazine.
